Philippines Scuba Diving Trip Of 2007

The Philippines Scuba Diving Trip of 2007 was a combination of scuba diving and sight-seeing. I had been to the Philippines the previous year but didn’t scuba dive.

Boracay Island

Finally, I was visiting the island of Boracay and decided to book a package of dives on the resort island. In order to get there you had to leave from the the local airport in Manila and take a local flight to the island of Caticlan. Then from there, you would take a local boat to the island of Boracay. Its a small island and everything is within reach. Each day would consist of eating a hearty breakfast and then walking to the dive shop to get set up for the day’s dives. We would do three to four dives a day.

Few Wreck Dives But Mostly Reefs

There were a couple local wrecks but mostly the dives consisted of reefs. It is the soft coral triangle and the macro of fish were plentiful. I had the same dive guide the entire Philippines Scuba Diving Trip of 2007.  My dive guide, Jekko asked me what I wanted to dive and how deep? I told him I wanted to start the morning dives with deep dives and transition to shallow dives in the afternoon. We even did some challenging deep dives with heavy currents where we were able to see black tip reef sharks.

Few Deep Dives Requiring Negative Entry

Some of the deep high current dives required a negative entry off the small boat in order to drop down to the reef and not be pulled by the heavy current. The Philippines Scuba Diving Trip of 2007 was also filled with a lot of night life. At night there are open air nightclubs where you can slip into a party mode and totally enjoy yourself.
